Charity is my lifelong dream
Subsidizing impoverished students, donating to disaster areas, participating in charity auctions, and organizing the purchase of love oranges... In the business community of Lishui, there is such a tireless owner who is dedicated to the cause of love. He is Wang Huawen, the chairman of Zhejiang Ouyi Bearing Manufacturing Co., Ltd., known as a "commoner philanthropist in Lishui". Wang Huawen is a retired soldier and a Communist Party member who loves charity. Since the moment he took the oath under the solemn party flag, Wang Huawen has been determined to be a person with a sense of social responsibility, love, gratitude, and repay society. So, he has been committed to the development of Lishui's charity cause: caring for the weak, generously giving, and helping others in various ways.
At 8:30 am on June 1, 2007, Wang Huawen and his friends arrived at the editorial department of Lishui Daily. As soon as they entered the door, they asked to look through the information of impoverished elementary school students and wanted to pair up several children. It turned out that since he started his business in Lishui, he had always wanted to do some public welfare work. When he learned from the newspaper that "bid farewell to the 1500 Action Plan - a large-scale student assistance activity for thousands of impoverished primary school students," he immediately decided to support them. But feeling that their own abilities were limited, they called a few familiar friends. After everyone unanimously agreed, on the International Children's Day on June 1st, several heads of private enterprises put down their jobs and came to the newspaper to sign up for funding. This time, Wang Huawen provided one-time funding to over 30 out of school children, and the company was still in its early stages of development, less than one year after its establishment.
In August 2008, despite the company's tight financial situation, Wang Huawen did not hesitate to support Ma Zhouying, a poor student in Yunhe's college entrance examination. Last Spring Festival, Ma Zhouying and his father braved the cold wind, rode a motorcycle, brought pig feet and a banner to Wang Huawen's office. As soon as he entered the door, the father and son both thanked him vigorously. Watching their dusty appearance, Wang Huawen's heart was moved by waves of emotion. He never thought of seeking any return. He said that as long as he did something for charity, he felt comfortable in his heart, that's all. Before the father and son left, Wang Huawen gave Ma Zhouying a subsidy of 2000 yuan.
Those who give love also receive love in return. Subsidized impoverished students often write letters to Wang Huawen to report on their studies, and he is also happy to reply and communicate with them. He said, "This is the happiest thing in my heart. I hope that they will become successful and be able to serve people with kindness and gratitude, becoming truly useful talents for the country and people
In 2008, Lishui had a Dafengshou (Salad of assorted fresh vegetables) of oranges. However, the practical problem of increasing production without increasing income deeply hurt orange farmers. After Wang Huawen saw the report, he immediately contacted the Liandu District Agriculture Bureau to express his willingness to purchase a batch of "love oranges" from struggling orange farmers. Under the contact of the Promotion Office of the Agricultural Bureau of Liandu District, he contacted four low-income orange farmers from Taiping Village and Zhuzhou Village in Taiping Township. Under the contact of Taiping Township Citrus Cooperative, Wang Huawen purchased 12000 catties of "Love Orange" at a price twice the market price. And personally give all the love oranges to the sanitation workers in the urban area.
In February 2008, Wang Huawen saw a report in a newspaper that an orphan named Long Long was searching for "loving parents" in Weidongpeng Village, Zhaitan Township, Songyang County. Long Long became an orphan at the age of 8, relying on his 74-year-old grandmother for survival. After losing both parents, he often cried to find his parents. After reading the report, Wang Huawen, who had lost his maternal love since childhood, empathized and decided to provide financial support to Bruce Lee. Wang Huawen's wife also specifically inquired with reporters about Bruce Lee's height and other information, and bought him new clothes, shoes, backpacks, as well as daily necessities such as milk and blankets. After getting ready, Wang Huawen drove to Longlong's house and presented the initial subsidy of 2000 yuan. In this way, as a "godfather", he provided financial assistance to Bruce Lee and emotional warmth until Bruce Lee was adopted by an overseas Chinese in Qingtian a year later.
He took the lead in organizing donations from company employees in the Sichuan and Yushu earthquakes, helping Zhong Linmei, a struggling family in Yunhe's car accident, to study, supporting orphan Chen Xiaoqing to study, and donating money to build roads in rural Yaxi... Wang Huawen's deeds of caring for society and helping others are countless.
As the chairman of Zhejiang Ouyi Bearing Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Wang Huawen always humbly says that he is just an ordinary person who has never done anything big in his life. He has always been using his humble efforts to do some small things for the parents and villagers of Lishui. He said that as long as his pulse is still beating, he will always care for vulnerable groups!
